Informa Tech, a market leading B2B information provider specializing in Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Their mission is to inspire the tech community to create a better world through design. Informa Tech educates, connects communities via research and creates digital media, events, training products and services.
THE BRIEF
We were asked to design and produce all stage graphics & editor's tool kit for the 2022 & 2023 Game Developers Choice Awards.
These awards are the premier accolades for peer recognition in the digital games industry. Each year they recognize and celebrate the creativity, artistry, and technical genius of the finest developers and games created in the last year.
THE CHALLENGE
Our biggest challenge was to create compelling visuals that would compliment the stage layout and all of the innovation representative of the awards evening and its participants.
THE DELIVERY
The end result was an eye-catching, immersive and bold set of graphics created for the event. The focused and high-contrast color palette of black and white with red and blue enhanced the cohesiveness of all the elements. The use of pattern and geometric shapes provided visual interest and movement.
As outlined in the brief, each of the award categories were given their own unique spin on the overall design with the category name being highlighted in large bold font during the presentation.
Award nominee video packages and live-streamed video segments were prominently framed by the stage graphics. Given the extremely varied nature of the imagery used in different games, the overall set design helped to bring everything together throughout the event.
